Infant Child CPR

Do you know what to do if your little one begins choking or shows signs of not breathing? Learn from a local Hingham firefighter/EMT and get certified in the most important thing you can do for your child- keeping them safe! $35 for members, $40 for non-members (priced per individual).  Includes actual certification and certification card.

Prepared Childbirth

Prepared Childbirth provides expectant mothers and their partners with the tools they need to make informed decisions and choices regarding pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period.

Prepared Childbirth Class – One Day Course

This one day class is designed for motivated expectant parents who are not able to attend weeknight classes. It is a condensed version of the weeknight and weekend Prepared Childbirth courses, focusing on late pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period and including information on relaxation and patterned breathing for labor as well as hospital procedures, anesthesia and cesarean birth.

Your instructor will inform you how to arrange for a tour of the labor and delivery and postpartum area of the hospital in which you will deliver.  Each couple will receive a packet of handouts on the presented material for future reference. It is recommended that you register for a class that is scheduled approximately 4 weeks before your due date.  One day, 7 hours with breaks.

$175 per individual or couple;
$150– discount rate for HVMA patients, HPHC members and Mamas Move members

This class is designed for couples who are not able to attend weeknight classes. It focuses on late pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period and includes information on relaxation and patterned breathing for labor as well as hospital procedures, anesthesia and cesarean birth. Your instructor will inform you how to arrange for a tour of the labor and delivery and postpartum area of the hospital in which you will deliver. Each couple will receive a packet of handouts on the presented material for future reference. The course meets for a total of 12 hours on either a Saturday and Sunday. It is recommended that you register for a class that is scheduled approximately four weeks before your due date.

$179 per individual or couple;

This is a class for expectant parents which focuses on late pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period. It includes information on relaxation and patterned breathing for labor as well as hospital procedures, anesthesia and cesarean birth. Your instructor will inform you how to arrange for a tour of the labor and delivery and postpartum area of the hospital in which you will deliver. Each couple will receive a packet of handouts on the presented material for future reference.  This course meets for four weeks for three hours on weeknights.  It is recommended that you register for a class that is scheduled to finish approximately two to four weeks before your due date.

$159 per individual or couple;

Caring for your Newborn

Learn all the essentials for caring for your new baby. This is a class for expectant parents which focuses on the routine care of infants and the management of common problems. Safety issues concerning babies and equipment needs are also addressed. Participants have the opportunity for hands-on practice on diapering, bathing and feeding. Each couple will receive a packet of handouts on the presented material for additional reference.  One day, 3 hrs.

The registration fee is $45 per individual or couple; $38 with the HVMA/HPHC discount or Mamas Move members.

Breastfeeding Essentials and Basics

This essential class will provide you with all of the information you need to get off to a good start with breastfeeding:

• how you make milk,
• how to know if your baby is hungry,
• positioning of your baby for feeding,
• how to know if your baby is getting enough, and
• supports and resources.

It is intended for women and their partners who are considering breastfeeding as well as those who have decided to do so. It is recommended that this class be taken approximately four weeks before your due date. Each participant will receive a packet of handouts on the presented material for additional reference.  One day, 2.5 hours.

$45 per individual or couple;
